Fibromyalgia a widespread musculoskeletal pain & fatique disorder. Fibromyalgia refers to pain in the muscles, ligaments, & tendons (the fibrous tissue). Symptoms can include pain, fatique, sleep disorders, iritable bowel syndrome, chronic headaches, TMJ dysfunction (TMJD), myofacial pain,chemical sensitivity, sensitivity to odors, noise, bright lights, various foods & medications. The symptoms can be numerous symptoms.
The medical community is starting to recognize this as a true syndrome, it is sometimes difficult to find a physician , trained in this area that is sympathetic & willing to assist you find a treatment plan that works for you.
Treatment usually involves a physical history & exam, notation of discomfort at certain trigger point areas & ruling out other diseases with lab testing.
